Open Minds meets regularly once a month at the Nottingham Mechanics Institute and about once a week in the evening or Saturday daytime. (Please click on 'where we meet' for details of the monthly meeting.) Members choose what activities they would like to do in the coming months at the monthly meeting. A diary is then sent in the post to each member telling them what's on and the dates, times and places of the activities for the coming month. Activities in the past have included: bowling, swimming, going to the pub, having a meal or seeing a film at the cinema. Its up to the members to say what they would like to do and then we organise it. Whenever possible, we make sure that all the activities take place in accessible venues. During summer months we travel to the coast or sail on the river. During late autumn and winter we visit the cinema, restaurants, or have workshops. There is something of interest each month! |
