Carol Hall, Step Ahead,

I was “recruited” by Patrick Gallagher, the Project Manager for Open Minds, over 5 years ago.

Since then I have worked with Open Minds both as a volunteer and on a few of their smaller projects. Working with Trustees to raise awareness of governance responsibilities and build on existing skills and talents.

I have also supported service user Management Committee members to identify additional support and more efficient ways of structuring the organisation.

In addition, I have supported the key worker in his role to develop his interpersonal skills and provide mentoring in developing his ideas around new and innovative ways of working with and supporting service users.

I am currently supporting development of the exciting new Open Minds project aiming to involve volunteers in an experience of working with the charities members whilst at the same time being developed themselves in their soft skills and self-development.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with Open Minds and have found staff, members and trustees to be professional, enthusiastic and passionate about the range of services they provide and also the quality of service they deliver. I find working with all involved in Open Minds extremely rewarding.
